The Holiday Plays Series of Early American History

The media approach to play production brings new dimension to the social studies and language reading programs.  These multi-media plays are a great support system for the classroom reading program, aiding in increased comprehension and oral language skills.

You will find that these plays enrich the language arts program through speech development.  They are a stimulating vehicle for the creative and imaginative expression of young people.

What Educators Are Saying About THE HOLIDAY PLAY SERIES:

"Acting out these delightful, dramatic roles in these historical plays make the holidays come "alive" and seem more "real" for my students. Students have more of an appreciation for why we celebrate these holidays and a better understanding of their heritage."
- Peggy Tripp, Riverside County (Ca.) Teacher of the Year

"Readers' theater provides enjoyment in reading, enrichment through dramatic representation and motivation to learn about customs, history and holidays of our country. A must for every classroom!"
- Blanche Brewster, Asst. Superintendent Elementary Division (Retired), Long Beach Unified Schools (Ca.)

"Any school library will welcome these plays. I've had numersou requests from teachers for history in "play" or "drama" format and these more than amply fill that need. Children will learn not only more about American holidays but also the respective responsibilities of producing a play."
- Fred Borchers, Student Library Specialist, Santa Barbara County School (Ca.)

"It is fascinating to see what has been accomplished in the books... Christmas Magic, Thanksgiving Feast, Flag for a New Country, King!...(all) creatively urging children to read, and this will enhance their entire life."
- Mrs. Norman Vincent Peale, Peale Center for Christian Living, Pawling, New York

"The Holiday Play Series enriches reading programs in a "student theatre" format. The plays provide a vehicle for the development of verbal skills in language arts programs. Best of all, they make history come to life in an exciting and satisfying way. Teachers will want more of these!"
- Dr. Alfred Artuso, PhD. Education, Westlake Village, California
